Industrie 4.0

Mit Industrie 4.0 wird die vernetzte, automatisierte und intelligente Produktion bezeichnet. Im Grunde geht es um die digitale Transformation des Fertigungsprozesses in Kombination mit der Logistik. Prägend für Industrie 4.0 sind die Maschine-zu-Maschine-Kommunikation mit der Vernetzung, Automatisierung und der Nutzung von Big Data. Gern wird Industrie 4  auch als die 4. industrielle Revolution bezeichnet:
